Creator and admins can no longer see the results, once a poll is made anonymously it can't be changed back.
+1 - From a Marketplace’s review: “Great Add-on with basic functionality. I was realizing that the creator of a poll can display a poll report and in this way always has access to data on who actually voted for which item in a poll, which is problematic when it comes to anonymity. I was wondering if one could truly create anonymous polls. I was also wondering if it would be fair to display to the users of a poll in how far their votings are anonymous. I think this is a piece of information that would have to be displayed on the poll itself so that users know "
Do you think we should add it as a new option or just replace existing “Display names of other voters“ option with this new feature?
What about storing votes in the database? should we go as far and encode user keys so users can’t be easily resolved by querying database or simply not displaying users to anyone on UI is enough?
I think we should replace “Display names of other voters“option with the new anonymous poll, cause that feature is just wrong. But then there might be a problem with existing polls that have that option enabled. If we convert it to anonymous poll, users will not be able to make it not anonymous anymore and won’t have an option to see who voted for what and we’ll probably have people unhappy about this.
I say we convert it to an anonymous poll, but leave the old ones in the old format. Can you see what technical options we have for accomplishing this?
We’d have to create new db column instead of using the same one and create bunch of weird conditions in the code to handle both old and new types of polls. What do you think about converting old polls that have “Display names of other voters“ enabled to anonymous but allow to disable it for some time? By doing this we will allow users to make anonymous poll not anonymous for now and after some time we will disable it so once it’s anonymous it can’t go back to not anonymous?
